Let’s suppose I have 3 machines. All are local resources.

  1. Is the domain-manger.
  2. Is a computer with a specific drive letter that holds specific assets.
  3. Is a computer with a specific drive letter that holds specific assets.

How am I able to call upon the asset that exists on Computer_3?

atp:/computer3_ip/drive_letter/assetmapping

???

would I need to perform drive letter mappings?

Thanks!

Assuming you’re hoping to run the asset-server on machine 1, the only current way to do this would be to have a drive letter mapping for a network share from 3 on 1. Then you would set your asset folder (via domain-server settings) to be a folder on that mapped share.

Note that it is currently only possible to have all of your assets in one place. So you couldn’t easily split them across multiple machines.

Eventually we will likely allow you to run multiple asset-servers in your domain, and then you could run an asset-server on each machine and have the asset files wherever you wanted on each machine.
