Docs page, it better now?

#1

I wanted to try to find on the Docs page more info about the xbox one mappings, sadly the Docs page is gone, moved or very fuzzy on the new page that i do not find it.

Also a search option is missing. Not that the search where really helpfull in the past.
Still not found documentation about this. (gamepad.js) Technical i try to see if there’s sort of mouselook functionality on the xbox controller, that is really missing to look around and walk.

// Function -> button/axis mappings
var AXIS_STRAFE = Joysticks.AXIS_LEFT_X;
var AXIS_FORWARD = Joysticks.AXIS_LEFT_Y;
var AXIS_ROTATE = Joysticks.AXIS_RIGHT_X;

var BUTTON_SPRINT = Joysticks.BUTTON_LEFT_STICK;

var BUTTON_TOGGLE_MIRROR = Joysticks.BUTTON_FACE_LEFT;

var BUTTON_TURN_AROUND = Joysticks.BUTTON_RIGHT_STICK;

var BUTTON_FLY_UP = Joysticks.BUTTON_RIGHT_SHOULDER;
var BUTTON_FLY_DOWN = Joysticks.BUTTON_LEFT_SHOULDER;
var BUTTON_WARP = null; // Disable for now

var BUTTON_WARP_FORWARD = Joysticks.BUTTON_DPAD_UP;
var BUTTON_WARP_BACKWARD = Joysticks.BUTTON_DPAD_DOWN;
var BUTTON_WARP_LEFT = Joysticks.BUTTON_DPAD_LEFT;
var BUTTON_WARP_RIGHT = Joysticks.BUTTON_DPAD_RIGHT;

This? https://highfidelity.io/docs
The search works. Enter gamepad.js API led me to this: https://readme.highfidelity.com/docs/xbox-360-controller-on-mac-os-x-yosemite

It all seems to be under https://readme.highfidelity.com/

Yes that page i found, But there’s no search !

Also here (https://readme.highfidelity.com/) i do not see any search. it’s gone !
The top left home/search send me back to square one

#4

That is very strange. This is what I get:

Have you tried logging in?

@Richardus.Raymaker, I could reproduce your problem by raising the security level on IE11 to high (the maximum). That causes the search widget to disappear. Checking to see the differences between high and medium-high security levels.

[edit]
OK, the issue is that when the security setting is set to ‘high’ it turns off active scripting (as in no javascript). Not many WEB sites nowadays will look right with javascript disabled.

I use firefox, never use internet explorer. Only have some protections. This still seems a bug in the code and the website. A search box is something basic that normally never give problems.

Besides it worked fine before the website got updated and redesigned.

Yes, I imagine you might have used a different browser. I tried this on Chrome and Safari, same issues if javascript is disabled. All I can suggest at this point is to check your settings in FireFox, see if somehow javascript got disabled.

I ran that page through strict debugging. There are some errors (improper font loading), and there are attempts at running trackers (I always block those), and there are some minor HTML errors, but no major errors.

Installing FireFox…

And finally, this is the “docs” working with the FireFox browser. At this point I suspect it is a settings issue, either something turned off javascript or some other setting is blocking something else critical. It’s working for me on all the browsers I tested (including FireFox). I’ve run out of clues - sorry I can’t help.

I checked it, javascript = true. But in IE i see the code for search.

It looks also that IE get’s complete different code then firefox. because the input field i cannot find. No console errors in firefox.

There’s no search on that page, or it’s only one page with info. But no google ajax search block

#12

Ok i dived into ghostery. and disabled it for few seconds. the search page is then loading.

Question is why it get blocked now. and why it worked in the past. More search needed. It’s mabye bug in ghostery to. Also why does high fidelity need to use a google search api for search the website.

Well, using google search api from other side is some data harvesting and spyware that is not needed. mabye that is why it got blcoked.

Unfortunately some users with ad blockers won’t see the google site search box. If possible please whitelist that page so you are sure to see it.

We’re evaluating other search options to avoid this issue.
