flowApp.js basics?

#1

Howdy - does anyone out there (Menithal) have some basic tips for creating content with the flowApp bone colliders script?

Just some basics of the setup, naming conventions of the bones, tension settings, etc.? I have seen it working well in world, but can not seem to find any developer resources in the Docs or online in general. I would be rigging in Maya, but assistance on any platform would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you!

Question: In the revised Avatar standards in the HiFi docs (https://docs.highfidelity.com/create-and-explore/avatars/create-avatars/avatar-standards), flow bones are now referred to as having the joint name prefix of"SIM" rather than “flow_” in the documentation on GitHub (https://github.com/highfidelity/hifi-content/tree/master/Utilities/HairFlow) - has there been a change to the flow.js script that requires this, or does it recognize both? The “SIM” prefix reference in the docs does not point to the GitHub information at all… anyone know more about this change?

Hi ultranique. Flow has recently been updated to support SIM joints. It should still work with FLOW joints as before. I’ll make sure that this is included on the avatar creation docs.

Ok, thank you for the clarification Luiscuenca :+1:

Hi @ultranique. Just wanted to let you know that the docs have been updated. You can use either “sim” or “flow” as the prefix and it will work
