Interface has lag

#1

I have a stalling effect with interface Windows 2758.
When doing anything I move for 3 seconds and stop dead for one second, then move again, this happens constantly, no matter what I do. It has been like this for a few days now.

It feels like one of these browser viruses that steal your processor all the time, but it affects nothing but the interface.

Is anyone else seeing this issue please.

#2

I feel like I have this problem all the time. When I log on I wait a good 3 or 5 minutes before everything settles down. Then I can walk or move around.
But my mouse always seems over sensitive, making it very hard to focus on what I am doing.

I see the problem too, and yes, it has been over week since it started happening. It’s easy to spot on a video. Running the task manager, I see the the interface process processor utilization take a dip on each hang.

Notes:

  • Did a complete uninstall of interface, then reinstalled it.
  • Did a complete uninstall of the Oculus runtime, was affecting screen resolution.
  • Tried it on sandbox, hq, InMotion (local to my network but on another server)
  • Tried it on spiritmoving, a doman runnng in the same computer as the interface app
  • Tried it disconnected (yes, it happens there too)

I think I may have solved this issue for me.
I first did a complete reinstall but noticed that all the folders didnt get removed on uninstall and the problems persisted.

So I uninstalled again and this time I went in and deleted all associated files and rebooted before reinstalling.

Happy to report this solved several issues I was having, seems hifi doesnt remove the cache on uninstall and of you have some dodgy files in the cache the problems will continue even after reinstal.

I suggest a CLEAN install.

Did that. It took several minutes before everything rendered at that deep cleaning. Though it seemed OK, I still get the occasional glitch as seen in the vid I made. So, there is something still awry. I do see a lot of these messages in he log:

[DEBUG] [07/03 22:01:52] ERROR in writeDatagram: QAbstractSocket::NetworkError - “Unable to send a message”

But also I saw numerous error messages from entiries I obtained from the marketplace:
