Still problems with QtWebChannel on remote ubuntu server compiling

#1

The problem seems to come into play when qt is installed via apt-get rather than the X11 installer (which cannot be install via command line). The apt-get version does not include all the proper config files for cmake but the graphical offline installer does…

It is the same error that has plagued us in the past:

CMake Error at /usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/cmake/Qt5/Qt5Config.cmake:26 (find_package):
Could not find a package configuration file provided by "Qt5WebChannel"
with any of the following names:

	Qt5WebChannelConfig.cmake
	qt5webchannel-config.cmake

Ok here is my solution:

Download the QT offline installer here (I got 5.5.1 from older versions) onto the linux server

chmod +x the downloaded file so you can run it

Install it using remote desktop from windows to the linux server according to [this] ((http://askubuntu.com/questions/592537/can-i-access-to-ubuntu-from-windows-remotely)

Then proceed with the normal instructions using your remote desktop.

Unfortunately all this means you are installing about 200mb of x11 support which is just taking up space from then on. Hopefully there will be a better solution in the future.
