Temporary objects lifespan forcefully set to 1 hour

#1

Its a tad bit annoying. Id like to be able to set it to a value less than an hour, but it can cap out at an hour. However, regardless of the value I set, it always sets it self to 1 hour.

This makes it harder to rely on it for cleanup, especially when one disconnects, or crashes or teleports away, after which script control is lost.

This also which also explains why the flares were sticking around in the sandbox last week, which I though was caused by the rapid editEntity calls I was calling.

#2

… affected me also; in theory this PR should have fixed:

if you notice it happening again could you try running this in a console (it loads the test script I attached to that PR), and report back the output?

Script.include('https://rawgit.com/humbletim/2672449fd7efd120ec68a0d7ab91bf0a/raw/730813c04eeb678183637518702344b3abdb9b2c/canResTmpTests.js');

EDIT: re: @Balpien.Hammerer – maybe one of the below will work better with copy/paste?

Did you know there is no way to select the entire contents of that scriptlet you posted? All of the standard UI techniques are not available.

[edit]
Same seletion problem in git hub.

#4

Inded better. Not sure what’s up with code sections. I dinda remember that used to work.

#5

Dang! Did you know one cannot copy the contents of the console window?
So, photo of same:

#6

Those results look OK – although you had canRez: true so the lifetime limit probably wasn’t applied. Basically to test that particular bug scenario the output would need to indicate canRez: false and canRezTmp: true.

#7

I have it that way for others, but set to all rez for me, changing that for the test.

#8

Well, I logged out, canRez is off, temp rez is off (as expected). So, to verify that I edited my steamboat, found out I could edit it. Wiggle it slightly. That worked. Then I logged back in and poof steamboat is now gone.

Not your fault clearly, just another bug requiring me to go to backups and restore my trashed domain. But, I hit my HF bug limit for the week. Someone else can carry on.
